Furniture
Weckström's acrylic furniture came into being when he couldn't find suitable furniture for his newly built detached house. Weckström has mentioned that in the 1970's the sofas available in stores reminded him of stampeding herds of bison. His preference was for visually light and inconspicuous furniture that would leave space for art. To bring his vision to life, Weckström designed acrylic chairs, table legs supporting a glass top, a sofa set, and a side table for his home. He also had a suitable light fabric woven for the sofa set. The transparent furniture serves the user while allowing the gaze to wander.
The lounge chair from the series is also a part of the bronze sculpture "The Thinker."
